Thank you for visiting Shannon Barbee Show Pigs. We are a small, but diligently growing show pig operation located in Hamlin, Texas.  A few years ago, I decided to get back into raising show pigs.  Although I spent most of my younger years raising hogs with my dad, Larry Barbee, in Floydada, Texas, I had been out of it for quite a while and had to start over from scratch.  In 2009, I (with the help of a friend) started looking for a few key gilts and in 2010, farrowed five litters.  One of those litters turned out to be one of the hottest and most successful litters of the 2011 show season.  The "Fab 15's" (as I like to call them) included the very popular Reserve Breed Champion Cross at San Antonio (15-4), the Breed Champion Hamp at San Angelo (15-8), and "Black Market", the $30,000 boar sold by private treaty to the Tom Moyer Family and Genetic Edge (15-6). This litter also produced the Grand Champion of the Hamlin Stock Show and Jones County Gilt Show (15-1 Gilt) and two other gilts (15-2, 15-3). All of which were retained in our herd.  Through that success and those genetics, we have expanded our herd with an emphasis on quality instead of quantity.  We will be offering approximately 20 late July through September litters for sale at the farm this fall, including litters from the 15's, their daughters and granddaughters.  Please don't hesitate to call if you have any questions or would like to schedule your visit. We appreciate the opportunity to help with your show pig needs.  Thanks again for your interest and I look forward to seeing you this fall.
